A small oval camel skin lamp painted with a desert scene: a camel and rider in silhouette, date palms, and a sun going down behind them in yellow, orange and red. The color is laid on solid, so unlit it looks like a painting and lit it turns into a backlit one.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does it look like switched on?
The skin is translucent, so the light comes through amber and the painted work turns into a silhouette. Use a warm 5W to 7W LED bulb. Anything brighter flattens the effect and anything hotter is bad for the skin.
Is it bright enough to read by?
No. This is a mood lamp. It throws a warm pool of light over about a meter and that is the point of it.
Does camel skin smell?
A new lamp has a faint leather smell for the first week or so, then it goes. Keep it out of damp rooms.
How do I clean it?
Dry dusting only, with a soft brush. Water marks the skin permanently and will not come out.
