A straight-sided serving pot with a heavy rolled rim, 7 inches across and 3 deep. The rim is glazed solid cobalt and the body carries white fan palmettes with sky blue infill, sitting on a dark blue ground. It is the shape you put salan on the table in, and the rim gives you somewhere to hold it.
About 900 ml to the rim, so daal or salan for three to four people.
Food straight off the stove is fine. What cracks ceramic is a sudden change, so do not take it out of the fridge and into the microwave on full.
